چکیده

The semiclassical transition state theory (SCTST) introduced by Miller, Hemandez, Handy, Jayatilaka and Willetts requires the inversion of an (effectively integrable) Hamiltonian with respect to the action of the reactive coordinate. It is shown that the inversion may be avoided in computing the thermal rate constant; the resulting expression also provides an appealing link to conventional transition state theory This reformulation of the SCTST rate is illustrated by application to the bimolecular reaction, H+H2+HzSH, and to the unimolecular dissociation, D,CO+D,+CO.

Semiclassical Transition in φ 4 Theory ∗

We have shown an example of semiclassical transition in φ4 theory with positive coupling constant. This process can be described by the classical O(4)-invariant solution, considered on a contour in the complex time plane. The transition is technically analogous to the oneinstanton transition in the electroweak model. It is suppressed by the factor exp(−2S0) , where S0 is Lipatov instanton actio...

A direct ab inifio dynamics approach for calculating thermal rate constants using variational transition state theory and multidimensional semiclassical tunneling methods. An application to the CH,+H+GH,+H, reaction

We present a new methodology, called “direct ab initio dynamics, ” for calculations of thermal rate constants and related properties from first principles. The new method is based on full variational transition state theory plus multidimensional semiclassical tunneling transmission coefficients with the potential energy information to be calculated from an accurate level of ab initio electronic...

Multi Particle Semiclassical Process in φ Theory

We have shown an example of semiclassical transition in φ model with positive coupling constant. This process describes a semiclassical transition between two coherent states with much smaller average number of particles in the initial state than in the final state. This transition is technically analogous to the one-instanton transition in the electroweak model. It is suppressed by the factor ...

Hydrogen Abstraction Reaction of Hydroxyl Radical with 1,1-Dibromoethane and 1,2-Dibromoethane Studied by Using Semi-Classical Transition State Theory

The hydrogen abstraction reaction by OH radical from CH2BrCH2Br (R1) and CH₃CHBr2 (R2) is investigated theoretically by semi-classical transition state theory. The stationary points for both reactions are located by using ωB97X-D and KMLYP density functional methods along with cc-pVTZ basis. Single-point energy calculations are performed at the QCISD(T) and CCSD(T) levels of theory with differe...

Rate constants from the reaction path Hamiltonian. II. Nonseparable semiclassical transition state theory.

For proton transfer reactions, the tunneling contributions to the rates are often much larger than thermally activated rates at temperatures of interest. A number of separable tunneling corrections have been proposed that capture the dependence of tunneling rates on barrier height and imaginary frequency size. However, the effects of reaction pathway curvature and barrier anharmonicity are more...
